AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

School Confidence Programme

The School Confidence Programme by The House of Bree Modeling Studio is a school-based, after-school initiative designed to support children’s confidence, communication, and self-expression in a positive and inclusive environment.

This programme is delivered on school grounds as an after-school activity and is suitable for primary and intermediate-aged students. It has been successfully delivered in partnership with New Zealand schools and continues to receive strong feedback from both educators and families.

Programme Overview
The programme supports students to:

  • Develop confidence and self-belief

  • Strengthen communication and presentation skills

  • Build positive posture and body awareness

  • Learn teamwork, respect, and participation

  • Express identity in a safe and supportive environment

While sessions include elements of presentation and movement, the emphasis is not on appearance or performance, but on personal growth, wellbeing, and confidence.

Cultural Celebration Component
A key feature of the programme is its focus on cultural identity and inclusion. When delivered over a school term, the programme can conclude with a school-based cultural showcase, where students are encouraged to share and celebrate their cultural heritage.
This element fosters pride, belonging, and community connection, and has been particularly meaningful for students, families, and school staff.

Alignment With School Values
The School Confidence Programme aligns strongly with outcomes valued by New Zealand schools, including:

  • Student wellbeing and confidence

  • Positive self-expression and communication

  • Cultural diversity and inclusion

  • Participation, cooperation, and respect for others

The programme complements classroom learning by supporting students’ personal and social development in a structured and engaging way.

Delivery Format

  • After-school programme

  • Delivered on school grounds

  • Age-appropriate and inclusive

Structured sessions led by experienced facilitators
Programmes can be tailored to suit each school’s needs, including group size, year levels, and term length.

How Schools Have Used This Programme
In 2024, the School Confidence Programme was delivered at Marist Primary School as a term-based after-school initiative. Students participated in weekly sessions focused on confidence, communication, posture, teamwork, and self-expression.
The programme concluded with a cultural fashion showcase, celebrating students’ cultural heritage and identity. Feedback from both parents and the school was extremely positive, and due to the success of the programme, we have been invited to return and deliver it again.
